Don’t sleep on the “Tiny Desk”

Surfing the Internet has introduced us to a hidden jewel known as the “Tiny Desk” hosted by Bob Boilen on NPR Music’s All Songs Considered

This live concert series has featured more than 800 music artists since it began in 2008. We’ll leave it up to you as to whether “big name” talent is among those on the roster. Some of our favorites, however, such as Anderson Paak and T-Pain have garnered the most views from their appearances at the Tiny Desk.

Music genres featured include everything from country to indie to hip-hop. Many of the concerts were recorded before the artists became megastars (Check out H.E.R. and Lizzo, for instance.). One thing for certain, though, is the authenticity and display of sheer vocal and acoustic skills that can be enjoyed without the noise of a crowded concert hall or recreation facility.

The Tiny Desk. Don’t sleep on it.
