Introducing the Sojourners Digest

Introducing the Sojourners Digest

This world is not my home – I’m just a passing through. My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue.” – Mary Reeves Davis

To sojourn is to stay somewhere temporarily. The final destination is the ultimate goal, but the joy is found in each step of the journey. As the baton for enlightenment, justice, peace and progress is passed from one generation to the next, those who are willing to carry the burden of speaking truth to power assume the role of sojourners. If at least one person is helped along the way, then the journey was not in vain. The prize in is closer reach.

The Sojourner’s Digest is a recurring notion that has now come to life in digital form. Every idea has its season. The time is now. The Sojourner’s Digest is a resource for those seeking information, advice and encouragement along their personal journeys. It is an entertainment vehicle for sojourners who have grown weary and need to be uplifted. The emphasis is always Empowerment and Education, with a special focus on the Black community.

Just to state the obvious, our name was inspired by Sojourner Truth, a former slave who is known for her work as an abolitionist and women’s rights activist. Her bravery and determination to travel the world and preach truth in the early 1800s is a great example of a worthy journey. The Sojourner’s Digest seeks to convey truth in the 21st century.
